Cathleen “Cathie” Weir

5/18/1950 – 12/21/2022

Cathie, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 21st 2022. After two unexpected surgeries, her fragile lungs and kidneys could not take the stress. Cathie was a double-lung transplant recipient, just shy of 15 years ago. Cathie’s first love was the theatre, especially the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. She was a writer and published a book, “I’ll See You Later” which is about her experience with her transplant.

Cathie is survived by her husband, Richard Weir. Her daughter, Susan Weir and granddaughter, Hannah Rafferty. Sister, Rosemary Burke. She donated her body to the United Tissue Network.
