Body Donation to Science: Imminent or Recent Passing

If you or a loved one’s passing is imminent, or you are the loved one of a recently passed individual, deciding donate a body to science is an impactful way to leave a lasting legacy.

As the only non-profit science body donation organization, we’ve assisted hundreds of families going through the difficult process of saying goodbye to a loved one and navigating end of life logistics. That’s why our caring professionals are here to guide you through the process.

Here are the steps for donating your body to science through United Tissue Network.

Step 1: Gather Necessary Information

Before you start the process, it’s important to have a few key details ready:

  • Name of the donor
  • Any proof or documentation of donor’s wishes to donate
  • Medical history and specific conditions (UTN can take most donors, but certain communicable diseases such as Hepatitis or HIV may prevent donation acceptance)

Step 2: Fill Out Our Online Form

Once you have all necessary information available, fill out our online form as thoroughly as possible.

Step 3: Contact a UTN Team Member

Once the form is filled out, you will be prompted to contact one of our compassionate and professional team members, who are fully dedicated to ensuring your comfort and ease around the process of body donation to science and all steps involved.

Your support staff will help you finalize paperwork, make arrangements for transportation of the deceased, and talk with you about your wishes for the final remains. As the only non-profit whole-body donation organization, our top priority is to ensure the dignity of the donor and compassion for their loved ones.

By donating your body to science, you are playing a vital role in advancing medical knowledge, helping to develop life-saving treatments, and making a lasting contribution to the future of healthcare.
