UTN is a Nonprofit 501(c)(3)

Human Tissue & Cadaver Provider in Germany

United Tissue Network (UTN) is an AATB accredited, non-transplant anatomical tissue bank providing human tissue & cadaver specimens in Germany to approved medical professionals dedicated to the advancement of medical technology, training and education. Cadavers provide the most realistic representation of human anatomy allowing for variation from individual to individual, making human tissue an ideal model to perform advanced surgical training on.

“I am impressed by the comprehensive serology report and donor summary – they are the best I’ve seen.”
Shoshana M.

Driving Innovation

UTN supports the development of new products to innovate patient care including but not limited to, neurosurgical, orthopaedic, biomechanics, sports medicine and robotics. Human tissue promotes better health and well-being for everyday lives. Science, thanks to modern technologies, is finally moving forward to realize the premise that the “best test species for humans are humans”—without harm and with enormous benefit to humans.

Quality Standards & Safety

The safety of researchers, educators and clinicians is extremely important to the organization. UTN tests all donors for infectious diseases utilizing a CLIA-certified laboratory prior to the placement of any tissue with qualified research or training organizations. The testing directed on each donor includes Hepatitis B and C, HIV 1 and 2. COVID-19 testing is also mandatory on every donor that enters our program. There is no additional charge for this test and results are included with the comprehensive serology reports.

In addition, a complete medical-social history is provided for each donor (personal information is suppressed to protect the donor and the donor family) to aid in the training program. This provides information on the donor such as past surgical history, cancer, heart health, bone health and other key factors that may impact the overall experience for the medical professional.

“Human tissue provides the most realistic training opportunity.”
George C.

Anatomical Tissue – Procurement Options & Organ Types

UTN has the ability to procure all types of internal organs needed to fit your specific education or training program. This includes but is not limited to specimens such as hearts, lungs, livers, colons, blood and skin. Turnkey Partner Facilities

With the continued support of the United Tissue Network program, we have developed partner facilities in cities throughout the US and Canada. This allows United Tissue Network Institute to provide a continuum of quality and customer care across the country. In addition, our skilled technicians are available to travel to these locations to provide support for the educational programming. One call to our Client Services Department provides access to bioskills facilities from San Francisco to Miami and nearly everywhere in between.

C-Arms And Equipment Rental

A critical part of any training program is to ensure the proper equipment is on hand to create a realistic training opportunity for the surgeons. Whether it is surgical instrumentation, personal protective equipment (PPE) or full c-arm units and lead, the United Tissue Network team will work with clients to get the right equipment to the event facility to optimize the event.

With our network of partner facilities, we also have a network of equipment vendors to help reduce shipping costs.

Event Technicians

United Tissue Network has a wonderful team of experienced event technicians who are dedicated to assisting clients in providing a positive learning experience.

We recommend the on-site event technician to arrive one day prior to the training course to view the facility, accept the tissue and prepare as much as possible as allowed by the facility. Each day of the program, the technician serves as a steward of the tissue. In addition, technicians work alongside the client to assist in duties that will help make the training a success. Once the program is complete, the UTN technician remains on site coordinating the return of the tissue to the UTN facility while helping in the cleanup process.

The UTN technicians receive the highest praise from clients as an integral part of the training. All technician fees are based on the location of the course and include all fees related to travel.

UTN ships tissue in such a manner that conforms to customer requirements, and conforms to state, federal and international laws and or Standards (IATA) for packaging and labeling. UTN validates it shipping containers for appropriate container strength and refrigerant type and quantity to ensure they can maintain the highest possible tissue quality. Depending on the timing of the event, tissue can be shipped to arrive frozen or thawed. All tissue arrives in branded, marked boxes and is delivered only to authorized personnel or a UTN staff member. UTN’s laboratory team works closely to ensure on time delivery and pick up services.
