Registering in advance is recommended as it documents your wishes and makes it easier for your family when the time comes. You can start your registration with UTN online, providing medical history and consent. Once accepted, you will receive confirmation of your donation status.
Pre-registering also removes the legal burden from Las Vegas families. While you can withdraw consent at any time before death, your intention to donate your body is legally binding under Nevada’s Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, sparing the family from having to make tough choices during an emotional time.
When a registered donor passes away, United Tissue Network arranges for professional transportation from the place of death and placement with a reputable medical education or research facility. Whether death occurs at a local hospital like UMC, Valley Health, or Sunrise, a dedicated hospice facility, or at a private residence, UTN handles the transportation.
The research phase may last for several weeks. After studies are completed, UTN will arrange for cremation at a licensed facility and return of the cremated remains to the family upon request. All of this is provided at no cost to donor families, which can save thousands of dollars compared to the cost of cremation at a funeral home.

Who Can Take Part in Body Donation in Las Vegas?
Most adults are able to participate in body donation in Las Vegas. With United Tissue Network, adults age 18 and older may register, and there is no upper age limit.
Some people assume they cannot donate because of age, cancer, surgery, disability, or chronic illness. In many cases, those factors are favored, as researchers benefit from studying various diseases. The exception is for individuals with infectious diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis, or other conditions that may pose a health risk to medical professionals.
